Frederick has been home to my family since 1957 when my grandparents moved here. My wife and her family are lifelong residents too, so when the opportunity to unite others to help locally in Frederick was presented to us, we jumped at the opportunity. The impact that the non-profits of Frederick are having locally here is amazing and to play a small role in uniting like-minded, giving individuals for a greater good is incredible

ImpactClub Frederick

Local Members. Local Charities. Local Impact.

ImpactClub Frederick is a group of individuals committed to making a difference right here in our community.

The concept is simple: each member commits to donating $100 per quarter. Before every quarterly event, members nominate their favorite local charities. From those nominations, three are randomly selected to present live on stage. Each charity has five minutes to share their story, and then members vote.

At the end of the night, all three nonprofits win:

2nd and 3rd place each receive 5% of the total raised (roughly $2,000 each).

The winning charity receives the remaining 90% — often tens of thousands of dollars in a single night.

What seems like a small donation quickly adds up. A hundred $100 donations becomes $10,000. With more members, $20,000. Then $30,000. And so on. Together, we’ve already committed over $1 million to local causes, and the momentum keeps growing.

But the impact isn’t just financial. Every nonprofit gains awareness, exposure, and new supporters. For many, standing on the ImpactClub stage is the first time their story has reached a room full of people who are ready to listen — and ready to act. That moment can change the trajectory of their mission.

The Experience:

ImpactClub isn’t your typical fundraiser. It’s high-energy, emotional, and inspiring.

Each event kicks off with an hour of mingling and connection — time to grab food from a local truck, share a drink, meet fellow members, and build relationships. Then the storytelling begins. The lights dim, the crowd leans in, and the presenters open their hearts.

By the end of the night, one local charity walks away with a life-changing check, but every organization leaves with something even more valuable: a community that now knows and cares about their cause.

Frequently Asked Questions

  Can I bring a guest to the event?

Absolutely! Bring your friends, co-workers, and family members. Invite them all. The only way we spread the word about what we are doing here is to let new people in. Anyone can sign up to be a member at the event as well. Only members get to submit a vote, but the more people in attendance, the better. 

  Can my spouse and I sign up as one?

You can join together or individually. Remember though, only members get to vote so if you join together, you have to share the vote as well. If you'd both like to have voting rights, each of you should sign up using this link.  

  Are kids allowed at the live events?

This is an all-ages event. It is up to parents to decide if the event is right for their children. If you do bring children, please emphasize the importance of remaining quiet while the charities give their 5-minute presentations.

  What does it cost to be a member?

All ImpactClub members make a donation of $100, four times per year, which will be given directly to local non-profits serving Frederick and the immediate surrounding area. We notify the winning charity at each event how much they will be receiving based on our current member count. 

  If Im not at the event, can I still donate?

Yes, we partner with The Giving Group to collect payments so all members have a credit card on file with them. They will deduct your donation prior to the event and make sure it is given to the charity that is selected. 

  How is the money collected?

100% of your money goes straight to the charity. When you create your account on the membership site you will set up a credit/debit card where your donations will be charged on a specific date after each event. Your payment goes directly to a 501c3 organization, so it will all be tax-deductible.  

How are charities selected?

ImpactClub Members nominate the charities. Nominations are collected 30-45 days before each event. Members are notified when it's time to nominate. At which time they cast up to 3 nominations. The nominations are put into a random drawing where three organizations are selected. Each of the selected organizations will be contacted and invited to give a 5-minute presentation. If the charity declines or is unable to present, another charity will be selected. 

Can a charity be nominated multiple times?

Yes, a charity can be nominated more than once, and YES that will increase the odds of its selection. For each nomination, the charitable organization will get "one entry" into the drawing. That means if it has been nominated 23 times. It will have 23 entries in the drawing. If the organization has been selected to speak in the past and received the Impact Club donation, that charity will not eligible for re-nomination for 6 events. If the charity is nominated AND selected to present but does NOT win the donation, it will be eligible for re-nomination after 2 events.

How much of my $100 goes to the charity?

100% of your donation goes directly to the winning charity. No overhead or administrative fees are paid with your donations. Since all charities we give to are established 501c3 nonprofit organizations, your donations are fully tax-deductible.  

How can members help ImpactClub Frederick?

The best way to help ImpactClub Frederick is to inspire others to join us. The more members we have, the greater our impact. We already have close to 400 members. What if we had 600, 700, 800 members?!? Think of the impact we could make?
